Released November 25, 2016, on Netflix

SPOILERS BELOW!

Oh my goodness, someone please reach out to me so we can talk about this ending. Those last 4 words- they did not disappoint. I just finished binge-watching all 4 parts of the Netflix revival & I loved EVERY minute of it.

Some of the highlights for me were all the cameos. I mean Roy Choi & Rachael Ray in Sookie’s kitchen. There were 3 folks from Parenthood, Mae Whitman, Jason Ritter & Peter Krause.  Peter was Lauren’s on-screen brother, but her real-life love & Jason was her on-screen love on Parenthood & of course, Mae played her daughter, Amber. Then there was Carole King on the musical advisory board- Wow! Tony winners Sutton Foster & Christian Bole held the starring roles in the Stars Hollow musical. I saw Cheryl Strayed’s novel,  Wild resting on Lorelai’s lap poolside & made note of it. Resting by Lorelai’s feet was a tote bag produced by Reese Witherspoon’s company, Draper James & of course Reese played Cheryl in the movie. Did I miss any?

My heart swelled thinking of Rory taking over the Stars Hollow Gazette. I thought that was a wonderful storyline & I was so happy to see her working at a newspaper again. I really felt for Rory as she struggled through this year. When she explained to Lorelai that she felt as though she was walking on straw & about to fall in- I mean who hasn’t felt like that? I just wanted to give her a big hug. And what about Jess coming through as the voice of reason? He’s the one who prompted her to write the book & Lord, did he look good! I’ve always had a soft spot for Jess.

Some of my favorite lines or parts include:

Michel stating that fatherhood was going to be a lot of pretending for him

The compliment Lorelai received likening her to a beautiful Italian widow- I mean her hair was on point this whole series. I’ve got serious hair envy. I also really loved some of her dresses & wedges.

Emily wearing the faded Candie’s shirt & jeans

Rory’s kind words to Dean inside Doose’s made me tear up. Dean really was a wonderful boyfriend & such a sweet guy.

Luke saying to Rory & Lorelai- You guys just pretended to leave & you’re just sitting there eating.

Lorelai explaining that everything in her life has to do something with coffee & that she believes she WAS coffee in a former life. You know what, I believe it.

THE VERDICT

This series totally delivered. All the characters we know & love were there. Gosh, I especially loved seeing Lane & Zack & even Mrs. Kim. Today was like slipping back into a comfy sweatshirt you misplaced for the last 10 years. The eating, the coffee, the pop culture references, the binge session, the love, the history, it was all there.

What did y’all think??

Momma, wife, baker, reader & smart ass. I am Really Into doughnuts, inside jokes, trash TV, pizza, 48 Hours & George Michael.
