The lowdown on the Deadly Manners Podcast

Deadly Manners is a 10 episode, dark comedy murder-mystery series set in the winter of 1954. It follows the events during the night of the affluent Billings family annual dinner party with their distinguished, eccentric guests. However, all is not fun and games as shortly after the party starts, a snowstorm begins to rage outside, trapping all the partygoers inside their host’s mansion. When a murderer starts killing off those in attendance, the guests must figure out who is responsible, or at least how to stay alive — lest they be next. Deadly Manners was created by Ali Garfinkel and Alex Aldea. Deadly Manners stars Kristen Bell, Denis O’Hare, Alisha Boe, RuPaul, Anna Chlumsky, Timothy Simons, Michelle Visage, Alona Tal, David Cummings and is narrated by LeVar Burton.

Deadly Manners Podcast – A Dark & Fun Murder Mystery

I’ve been Really Into my True Crime podcasts like Dirty John & Someone Knows Something. While I love both of those podcasts, I need a little humor in my life. The Deadly Manners Podcast is the perfect antidote to balance the heaviness that comes with listening to a true crime series.

Jessica & I are huge Veronica Mars fans, so when Kristen Bell is involved, I’m sold. Kristen’s Deadly Manners Podcast character is even named Veronica! Levar Burton is a perfect narrator for this series that matches dark humor with a murder mystery. Levar’s deep, melodic voice carries the story throughout the night’s many murders, accusations & secrets. The style of the Deadly Manners Podcast is similar to the much-beloved movie, Clue. Do you remember that movie?

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into The Deadly Manners Podcast. First thing, it’s funny as hell. Rupaul & Michelle Visage can make me laugh at anything. Secondly, the sound effects are unreal. I listened to this on the treadmill one day & I thought there was something wrong with the machine. Every creak, crack, hiss & knock make the podcast come to life. Last, it’s honestly a Really suspenseful story. I keep thinking I have the next victim & the killer figured out, but I’m wrong. No matter, that’s what’s makes it so fun. It’s easy to lose yourself in a mansion filled with a cast of characters who despite multiple murders are bound & determined to finish their dinner party in style.

It’s so much fun. What are you listening to right now?

Momma, wife, baker, reader & smart ass. I am Really Into doughnuts, inside jokes, trash TV, pizza, 48 Hours & George Michael.
