Kelly Clarkson Wrapped in Red Album Review

This album came out in 2013, but this is my first year to Really appreciate the Christmas miracle that is Kelly Clarkson. There are so many meaningful & beautiful songs featured in Wrapped in Red. I just can’t get enough.

If you’re like me, you watch a lot of TV. Even if you don’t watch a lot of TV, chances are you’ve heard “Underneath the Tree” from Kelly’s Wrapped in Red album. The song was featured in an Amazon commercial a few years ago. Don’t remember it? Let me refresh your memory. “Underneath The Tree” is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

My Favorite Tracks – Kelly Clarkson Wrapped in Red Album Review

We all know “Santa Baby” but I love Kelly’s “4 Carats” even more. The song is sexy, flirty & fun. If you’re having a Christmas party this year, this has got to be on your playlist! She is waiting for Santa to arrive & is only asking for “4 Carats”. She’s got this moan that pairs perfectly with the beat to make for a seductive track. I love it!

The title track, “Wrapped in Red” is so raw. The song centers around someone finally getting the courage to share their true feelings. She is “Wrapped in Red” as she shows up at her beloved’s house to express her love. Okay, as I write this I admit she sounds a little stalkerish, but it’s not! It’s got a cool doo-wop flavor to it & Kelly’s voice is so smooth. Forget that it’s a Christmas song, it’s a year-round love anthem & I’m Into it.

Another one of my favorites is Kelly’s ode to her husband, “Winter Dreams (Brandon’s Song)”. The track captures the feeling of falling in love & making new memories with the one you love. Oh, how I wish someone would write a love song for me. Fine, call me desperate, but I can’t listen to “Winter Dreams (Brandon’s Song)” without smiling. It is so sweet.

Need a little more soul in your Christmas music, then check out “Every Christmas”. It’s reminiscent of Kelly’s song from Love Actually, “The Trouble With Love Is”. The organ in the background gives this song a stunning gospel feel that really resonates. We’ve all spent a Christmas waiting for something, haven’t we?

The Verdict – Kelly Clarkson Wrapped in Red Album Review

Oh, my friends, I am Really Into Kelly Clarkson’s Wrapped in Red album. We listened to it non-stop on a road trip last weekend. Wrapped in Red along with Smokey Robinson’s new album, Christmas Everyday have made my holiday season much brighter. The only thing I’m not Into is that it took me 4 years to discover it! What else am I missing out on?
