Crime reporter Harper McClain is back on the beat when a troubled musician vanishes in Christi Daugherty’s Revolver Road. Even in the chill of February, no place touches Harper McClain’s heart like Savannah. She should be walking beneath the historic city’s towering oaks, surrounded by graceful mansions. Instead, she’s hiding miles away on Tybee Island after a mysterious voice on the phone warned her that someone wanted her dead. The call was too specific to…

Revolver Road (Harper McClain, #3)

Life has been quiet for Harper out on Tybee until her scanner pops to life, a code coming through with no static. Typically all she hears is the muffled and distorted radio calls from Savannah. With Revolver Road, Harper finds herself being pulled into the disappearance of an up and coming musician, Xavier. Her making close connections with the friends he left behind is imperative to keep the dying newspaper ahead of the TV crews. As that case becomes more tangled her mystery man reappears to warn her that whoever destroyed her apartment in Savannah will come back for her, and soon.

THE VERDICT

Once again, Christi, had me wrapped into Harper’s life through the pages of Revolver Road. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the weather and storyline were intertwined in this book.  Harper’s character is an independent, intelligent, and maybe a little reckless. If I was a story character, she’s who I would want to be! Hoping there is another Harper McClain story on the horizon!
