Fruit Filling

This filling can be used for hand pies, regular pies, doughnuts, cake filling or as jam.

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen berries
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


  1. Rinse & drain fresh berries, but frozen berries are ready to go. 

    Place the berries in a medium to large saucepan over medium heat. Combine sugar, cornstarch & salt & pour it over the berries. Mix well & add the lemon juice. 

    Bring the mixture to a simmer & cook 5-10 minutes until desired thickness. 

    Transfer to a bowl & let the filling cool to room temperature.
