Cream Cheese Frosting

This is a great base for a wonderful cream cheese frosting.

  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 8-ounce stick of butter, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 -5 cups confectioners' sugar sifted
  • 2-4 tablespoons milk to make frosting spreadable.


  1. Combine the butter, the cream cheese and the vanilla in a medium-sized bowl, and beat them together until they are light and fluffy.
  2. Add the sugar gradually, beating well.
  3. Add the milk a little at a time, until the frosting is a spreadable consistency.
