Snowfall on Cedar Trail by Annie Rains has me heading back to Sweetwater Springs & I can’t wait. A while back I visited Sweetwater Springs (via Annie’s book, Springtime at Hope Cottage) & I still want to live there. A small town, a fudge shop, a great cup of coffee, memorable residents & a place to start over. Anyone else up for that?
Not All Fluff, My Friends
This visit to Sweetwater Springs is a bit heavier. Single mom, a police officer trying to solve a mystery that is very personal to him & a boy affected by selective mutism. There’s a cast of some shady ass townspeople too. While I was initially thrown off by this, the more I think about it the story feels more raw & real this way.
Can Be Read as a Stand-Alone, but You’ll Want to Dive Into The Series
One thing I love about Annie’s books is I get little tidbits about characters from the other books. Annie gives me info so I can check in on my old friends. Luckily, each book can easily be read as a stand-alone.
I am Really Into This book! Snowfall on Cedar Trail by Annie Rains is another winner for me. Read this if you’re in the mood for a second chance, happily ever after story that is not as straightforward as it may seem. While you’re at it, be sure to read An Alaskan Christmas for some extra holiday steam.
I’m going back and reading the first in this series, Christmas on Mistletoe Lane. I bought it last year after seeing the ridiculously cute cover with the dog.
