Now you all already know I’m a reluctant romance reader. The Kiss Quotient definitely changed that for me, so I am actively seeking out “romance” reads. It seems everyone & their mom is reading the newest from Colleen Hoover, so I knew I would get in on the game – eventually. Once I saw her event at my local Powell’s, I bought the book & devoured it the day of the event.

The Art of Relatable Characters

Rather than talk too much about All Your Perfects, Colleen hosted a long & fun-filled Q & A. What I gathered from her fans is that readers relate so easily to many of her characters. Now, I’ve read Ugly Love & Confess but the crowd favorites at this event were definitely Slammed & It Ends With Us. I need to read these pronto!

Readers thanked her for these characters & spoke about many of them as they are longtime, close personal friends. I LOVE that! her fans are Really Into her characters & the shared love for her writing creates this huge, wonderful community.

Huge & Supportive Fan Base

The crowd at Powell’s welcomed Colleen Hoover with a PACKED HOUSE! Colleen has a devoted & loving fan base & it was really special to be a part of it. The reader next to me traveled all the way from Idaho & the reader to my left traveled into town for the event as well. Some fans brought ENTIRE tote bags full of books to be signed & a younger fan asked Colleen to sign her arm. Now, that’s some serious fandom.

We also met Colleen’s sister, Lin & she is a TOTAL JOY! Check it out. Her hair matches the cover of the book! She’s hilarious, welcoming & took all the photos of Colleen with her readers. Colleen, my fellow Texan, is wonderful! She spent several precious minutes with each & every fan who came out to see her. She welcomed most with an embrace & signed anything & everything. I am TOTALLY a Colleen Hoover fangirl now!

All Your Perfects

Is this really a “romance” novel? My friend, Jennifer says Colleen’s books are genre-benders & I completely agree. The bottom line is All Your Perfects is a great novel. MANY women & men deal with infertility. It’s devastating, but something that needs to be talked about because it affects so many people in so many different ways.

Colleen handles this subject matter with grace & a raw style that I appreciate. She does seem to write these characters who readers haven’t met, but we all “know”. Quinn & Graham are no different.

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into This book! Certain books hit you at the right time & think when I read other Colleen books, I wasn’t ready. Now, I’m all in & will be making my way through her other books.
