HOW TO WALK AWAY BY KATHERINE CENTER BOOK REVIEW Really Into This

Oh, this book is great! How To Walk Away by Katherine Center came highly recommended by many of my book-loving friends so I didn’t even read the synopsis before starting. I dove in head first. Well, almost.

Heed This Advice on How To Walk Away by Katherine Center

Luckily, I posted a pic on Instagram prior to reading it & the author, Katherine Center, reached out to me & said to not begin reading it while on a plane. I took her advice & I’m glad I did. I won’t spoil anything further.

A Texas Girl Real Strong

I was pleased to learn my hometown of Austin, Texas is featured in the book. It plays a small part, but it was nice reading about Tex-Mex & Horseshoe Bay. One of the main characters in the book is a physical therapist, same as me. Right off the bat, I connected with this story.

A Texas Girl Real Strong

Margaret is tough – no bones about it. She deals with A LOT in this book. With the help of her estranged sister, Kitty, her very patient Dad & meddling mom, she handles it all. I really enjoy Katherine Center’s writing style. This could easily be a sappy story, but it’s not. How To Walk Away is heartfelt & funny. I seriously laughed out loud in a few parts. This book also made me smile & think about all the people I’ve known who met their worst day & came back from it.

The Jacobsen Family

What makes this book special to me are the characters. I love that Margaret’s sister Kitty returns at the most stressful time & waltzes in. Kitty is just what Margaret needs. She’s fun, throws caution to the wind & loves her sister. Margaret’s mother is so passive aggressive she made me want to pull my hair out. I know this type of woman. Honestly, she drives me insane, but it’s like she can’t help herself. Margaret’s dad is a wonderful solid rock. Summer got the best of me & I am writing this review weeks after I finished the book. Even now, I can picture so many details about this family. They’ve left their mark on me & thinking about them makes me smile.

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into This book! Was the storyline a bit predictable? Sure. Did that stop me from loving it? Absolutely not. The end of the story wraps up every little tiny detail & I am Into It. Closing this book I know exactly where the Jacobsen family is & I like that.
