I listened to the audiobook of OPEN BOOK by Jessica Simpson. When I first heard Jessica was writing a memoir, I was not interested in reading it. I figure I’ll get some juicy tidbits during the press tour & that will be good enough for me.

Well, the more I read about the book, the more I thought I may pick it up. On publication day, I throw caution to the wind & buy the damn book.

Can I just say that Jessica hooks me from the first chapter?! Honestly, what is happening to me when I’m listening to Jessica talk about motherhood? Am I tearing up while brushing my teeth on a Tuesday morning? Do I actually have things in common with Jessica Simpson? Are we friends?!?

If you’re on the fence about reading Open Book by Jessica Simpson, DO IT!

Don’t wait – buy it & give it a listen or read. For me, the audio is fantastic. Hearing Jessica narrate her struggles creates a powerful, meaningful, & profound reading experience. Jessica talks about her dad/manager. We get details about her parent’s marriage & their untimely divorce. Jessica’s faith in Christianity is present throughout the book. I find this to be refreshing as it is very important to her. Enter her love life. We get details on Nick, John Mayer & her HEA, Eric.

Throughout the book, I am laughing, crying, getting angry & feeling so much! OPEN BOOK is an incredible book club read. If you know anything about Jessica’s history, there is so much to chat about. Jessica is so brave. Through the pages, she lays it all out. Jessica is vulnerable, honest & candid about her career, love life, motherhood & friendships.

THE VERDICT

All the stars for this wonderful, touching & emotional memoir. As I finish the last chapter, I’m beaming. I’m so proud & happy for Jessica!
