American Girl at Washington Square Mall
I am Really Into going to the mall. So, when I heard there was a new American Girl at Washington Square Mall, we had to hit up the Grand Opening. We lucked out & received a free book to celebrate.
My daughter Annabelle & I had a blast visiting American Girl at Washington Square Mall. I was reminiscing throughout the store because Jessica & I were Really Into reading the American Girl Series when we were younger. One weekend, we spent hours sitting in a Waldenbooks reading the Molly & Samantha books for a school project. I still have some of my old books.
American Girl at Washington Square Mall
My daughter hasn’t Really gotten Into the American Doll products, mainly because she doesn’t like dolls. But, there is a new American Girl that I thought she would be Into. The newest doll is Alice Nanea Mithcell. Since we are obsessed with Moana, I figured getting to know Nanea would be a great introduction to the American Girl of Polynesian descent.
There were so many cool dolls in American Girl at Washington Square Mall. Even if some of the girls from my fenereation are retired, there are so many amazing new girls with interesting stories.
Check out Melody Ellison. Her tagline is “Today, I will lift my voice and sing out.
Fairness and equality for all people sound like music to my ears. More than ever, I need to lend my support at home, at church, and around my neighborhood. It’ll take courage, but adding my voice to others can really make a difference.
Melody is too cool. She’s a singer, she’s got style for days & she’s fighting for justice & equal rights. That’s my kind of American Girl.
Check out her Fancy Coat look too. I would rock this outfit in a heartbeat. I also loved her singing with her mircophone set and she has her own recording studio. Melody was fighting for the same things we are still fighting for today- fairness & equality for all.
Meet Julie Albright. Her tagline is “Now is my time to stand up and fight for what’s right.”
I like school and hanging out with friends, and I play on the basketball team. The boys’ basketball team. I’ll take on any challenge. Sometimes, I take on too much. But that’s OK— everything will turn out groovy in the end.
Julie reminds me of my mom. Look at Julie’s phone. My mom had the same doughnut type phone, except hers was dark brown. She was and is so proud of that phone. It was the first thing she purchased with her own money.
Julie’s bathroom is pretty epic too. Check out the furry toilet seat cover. Also, on the toilet tank, there is a bottle of Love’s Baby Soft perfume. I squealed seeing this. My mom bought that perfume for me when I was a kid.
Finally, meet Maryellen Larkin. Her tagline is, “I follow my heart instead of the crowd.”
I have a heart full of high-flying hopes and a head full of pie-in-the-sky ideas, even though they don’t all get off the ground. But I know that if I stay true to who I am and what I believe, the sky’s the limit.
I was Really Into Maryellen too. She’s rollerskating, wearing saddle oxfords with a poodle skirt & she was cooking up a storm in her kitchen. I am Really Into vintage kitchen ware & I have an EXACT match to her pink Pyrex casserole dish. So of course, I felt an instant connection with Maryellen. Also, I’m in love with her TV trays.
American Girl at Washington Square Mall – Truly Me Doll
If you can’t find a themed doll that you’re Really Into, then American Girl lets you make your own. My daughter thought this was Really cool. Choose hair, eye color, skin tone, freckles, etc. to style your American Girl to represent your look.
If dolls aren’t your thing, there are these super sweet baby dolls too. Some of their outfits- OMG! So cute!
If I was picking a set to represent me, it would definitely be these two American Girls. I love to bake & this gal’s bread turned out perfect. But, check out my girl relaxing. She’s about to chow down on not one, but TWO brownies. That’s me! These Girls should be on the next season on of The Great American Baking Show.
Now, Jessica doesn’t have red hair, but this is TOTALLY her. Chilling in a giant bubble bath = THE LIFE.
Here’s Bailey. Chilling & listening to music. This egg chair hooks up to a phone & actually plays music.
Now, this American Girl’s name is actually, Tenney Grant. She gives me serious Lady Gaga vibes with her banjo, pink cowboy hat & blonde hair.
Perhaps my favorite thing about American Girl at Washington Square Mall are these books made especially for girls. Growing up is tough – on everyone. These books make things a bit easier for young girls. These American Girl books cover topics such as bullying, friendships, handling emotions, caring for yourself, information about puberty, etc. American Girl does a heck of a job tackling these difficult & sensitive topics.
THE VERDICT
All in all, we are Really Into the American Girl at Washington Square Mall. This is the Grand Opening weekend. My daughter, Annabelle is now an American Girl convert. Her favorite was the beauty salon set. She loves how real each doll’s hair feels. I loved going to the store & seeing a myriad of different cultures, abilities & interested represented. American Girl at Washington Square Mall is a fun filled store for shoppers of all ages.
