We are thrilled to be part of The Book Club Cookbook’s Blog Party for The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews!
Years ago, before I even started Really Into This, I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Kay Andrews at a book event in Savannah, Georgia. I will just say this; Mary Kay is a total joy! If you read her books, I think you get e great sense of her humor & joy. She is just a total gem and I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet her. I’m also so glad we can celebrate her newest release with a perfect cocktail (or mocktail) pairing!

Book Review: The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews
Amy’s Review: This book was hard to put down. I read it in two days. Letty Carnahan finds her sister dead on the floor in her NYC townhouse. Her sister made her promise months prior that if something ever happened to her, then Letty should take her daughter Maya and run away where her dad couldn’t find her. This is a gripping story of her life on the run to save her 4-year-old niece from her wealthy and narcissistic dad.
A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, she received a B.A. in journalism from The University of Georgia and was a newspaper reporter for 14 years. The last ten years of her career were spent as a features reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
She is married to her high school sweetheart, Tom Trocheck, with whom she has a 40-year (and counting) collaboration yielding two grown children, two adorable grandchildren and countless memorable kitchen experiences.
After a 14-year career working as a reporter at newspapers including The Savannah Morning News, The Marietta Journal and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she spent the final ten years of her career, she left journalism in 1991 to write fiction.
