Who is in for a Christmas themed cozy mystery with an awesome narrator? ME!

A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery

I first heard about this audiobook from my friend Tiffany at Read All The Crime. The cover & the title alone make this a no-brainer for me. Of course, I want to read it! After Tiffany’s review, I knew I would make a plan to read it in December.

Cozies are just so wonderful. They create such an amazing ambiance & Twelve Slays off Christmas is no different. It takes the reader about two seconds for Jacqueline Frost to transport you directly to Mistletoe, Maine. Oh, if Mistletoe was real, what a Christmas destination it would be! If this book doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit, I don’t know what to tell you!

If It Wasn’t for You Meddling Kids

So, some people are new to cozies. For me, the best cozies have a Scooby Doo feel. You know what I’m talking about right? There are spooks, twists & turns, it’s not too scary & at the end, someone is unmasked & all is right with the world again. There is something so satisfying about this formula. I just savor these reads.

The White Family

Holly White is a great character. She’s an only child, which I relate to. She’s rediscovering her love for her hometown amidst a break-up. Her parents are wonderful & supportive. Even better, there is a cast of fantastic supporting characters like Ms. Cookie Cutter & Holly’s cat, Cindy Lou Who.

THE VERDICT

I am Really Into This book! Jacqueline Frost creates a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Best yet, I love the town & characters. Oh, & the murder mystery kept me on my toes & guessing I cannot wait to read the second book in this series, ‘Twas The Knife Before Christmas.
