Star FOX Really Into This Fall TV

Season 2 of Star begins September 27 on FOX at 9/8c

Star is my newest guilty pleasure.

I bring me, get my, bout my, go hard
Looking for another like me (Boy stop)
I bring me, whose love is the tightest whose kiss is the nicest (me)
Whose touch is the rightest (me)Bad bitch, (that’s me) that bitch (that’s me)

Game bitch, (that’s me) lame bitch (not me)
What you get is what you see
And I bring, I bring, I bring, I bring me

What’s This Show About?

Honestly, I cannot quit talking about this show. Derek is Really Into Empire & I thought this show would just be a rip-off of Luscious & Cookie’s crew. I hate to say it, but I was WRONG!

Star FOX Really Into This Fall TV

Star hooked me from the first fifteen minutes of the pilot. When we first meet Star, (Jude Demorest) she is begging to get out of her abusive foster care home. Her plan is to be on her own, find her sister, Simone (Brittany O’Grady) & head to Atlanta to make her music dreams come true.

Star FOX Really Into This Fall TV

Star has an Instagram friend, Alexandra (Ryan Destiny) who is the daughter of a music icon & they plan to meet-up in the ATL & get their music career started. Why Atlanta? Well, ATL is a huge music town, so it’s a great place for them to get their start in the music business. Another reason to go to Atlanta is so Star & Simone can track down their godmother, Carlotta (Queen Latifah). The girls are placing all their hopes in their music & each other.

Kind of a SPOILER here, but this happens within the first 15 minutes of the pilot. When Star tracks down her sister, she finds Simone’s foster dad Otis (Darius McCrary from Family Matters) is raping her. Immediately, Star goes into mama bear mode & stabs Otis in the back, grabs Simone, steals his car & heads straight to Atlanta. This scene lets the viewers know that Star will do WHATEVER it takes to keep her & Simone safe. There’s no doubt that Star will push through any barrier to get what she wants.

What to Love About Star

The soundtrack is AMAZING. These girls can Really belt it out. Also, everyone is perfectly cast. I LOVE that Miss Lawrence, introduced to me from Real Housewives of Atlanta, is a main character on Star. For y’all that don’t know, Miss Lawrence was Sheree’s hair stylist, went on to be part of Bravo’s Fashion Queens with Bevy Smith & Derek J.

Another thing I love about Star is the dance moves are sick! Music videos & performances are a huge part of the show. Star also brings in real issues; rape, crime, racial injustice, religion, LGBTQ characters, drugs & domestic violence. Tyrese Gibson is even on here, as a pastor that’s trying to seduce Queen Latifah!

THE VERDICT

I am crazy Into Star. I’ve already got Bailey hooked. I’m all caught up after binge-watching the first 11 episodes & I’m ready for Season 2! I’m about to re-watch all the episodes with Derek because I know he will be Really Into it too. Give it a shot. If you like music at all, if you love R&B, soul, tough ass women, drama, tension & heart in your television, you will love Star. There’s drama, heart, family, love, secrets, friendship, confidence & I’m Really Into it.

Momma, wife, baker, reader & smart ass. I am Really Into doughnuts, inside jokes, trash TV, pizza, 48 Hours & George Michael.
