Best Cold Weather Cocktails

When it’s cold outside, one of the best ways to warm up is with a hot cocktail.  We have selected some of our favorite boozy creations that will be sure to keep you toasty the whole winter season.  Even better, we partnered with our friend Amy at Novelgossip to bring you a list of books that pair perfectly with cold weather. These are the best cold-weather cocktails.

Cold Remedy Hot Toddy

The Hot Toddy is a classic winter drink, combining tea and bourbon or whiskey.  This one is kicked up with some healthy home remedies to ward off the sickness of the season.

Fancy AF Cocktails Tom Toddy

Another twist on the Hot Toddy, this one combines the spicy warmth of Chai Tea. It is courtesy of Fancy AF Cocktails, and is honestly one of my favorite new drinks.

The Snow Bunny

Our friends came back from Tahoe one weekend bragging about some boozy hot chocolate drink they had.  We instantly recreated it, adding both rum and Rumchata to homemade hot chocolate. The Snow Bunny is the perfect drink to sip by the fire.

Whiskey Cranberry Mule

Not every cold weather cocktail is hot!  This Whiskey Cranberry Mule is a winter twist on the Moscow Mule, trading the traditional vodka for warming whiskey and seasonal cranberries and mint.  It is simple, beautiful, and delicious.

Classic Irish Coffee

The Irish Coffee may be the most popular hot cocktail, and for good reason.  Hot Coffee with Irish Whiskey, Irish Cream and topped with whipped cream (homemade really makes this drink special).  It is the ultimate cold morning cocktail.

Namma’s Traditional Homemade Eggnog

This Eggnog recipe is straight from my grandmother’s kitchen.  Instead of using heavy cream and cooking over the stove, go straight for the ice cream.  It has the same effect without all of the legwork, and it is the creamiest nog I’ve ever had.  Make sure to use high proof alcohol to “cook” the raw eggs.

Hot Apple Cider with Rum

The perfect set it and forget drink for a crowd.  Heat apple cider with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, then add a generous amount of rum.  This drink is like a warm hug.

I am a Texan living in California with my husband Mark, my best pup Ziggy, and our two cats Marilyn and Goldie. I love reading, cooking, binge-watching great tv shows and staying up too late talking to my friends.
